Quick Product Summary: 10m x 75mm grey self-adhesive flashing tape for precise detail sealing. Best for capping bolts, small fixing points, narrow roof seams, tight gutter corners and short localised repairs where accuracy matters more than coverage. Porous brick, blockwork or concrete may need priming before application.

Sika Black Jack Self-Adhesive Flashing Tape 10m x 75mm is a narrow grey flashing tape with a lead-look finish for small roof repairs, tight seams, capping bolts, minor cracks and detail sealing work. It is made with an aluminium foil face and a bitumen rubber adhesive backing, helping it form a waterproof seal when pressed firmly onto a clean, dry and suitable prepared surface.

The 75mm width is the most compact option in this Black Jack flashing tape range. It is useful where a wider strip would be harder to position or would create unnecessary waste. It suits narrow roof joints, small gutter details, roof sheet fixings, capping bolts, small flashing repairs and localised waterproofing tasks where accurate placement matters more than broad coverage.

Where This 75mm Flashing Tape Fits

This narrow flashing tape is best suited to small repair points and tight details where wider tape may be awkward to handle.

  • Sealing narrow roof joints, seams and small flashing laps.
  • Covering capping bolts and roof sheet fixing details.
  • Repairing small cracks in suitable prepared concrete or roofing surfaces.
  • Sealing tight gutter details and localised gutter repair points.
  • Detail work around small roof projections and roofline edges.
  • Creating a narrow grey lead-look waterproofing strip on suitable prepared building surfaces.
  • Reducing waste on small jobs where wider flashing tape is not needed.

Why Choose The 75mm Width

Choose the 75mm roll when the repair is narrow, detailed or localised. It is a practical option for capping bolts, small cracks, thin seams, tight roof edges, gutter details and minor flashing repairs where a wider roll may cover more area than necessary.

For jobs that need slightly more cover while still staying compact, the 100mm roll may be more suitable. For wider roof seams, larger flashing overlaps or broader patch repairs, choose a wider size such as 150mm, 225mm, 300mm or 450mm.

Key Performance Benefits

  • Narrow Detail Width: The 75mm size is useful for tight seams, small overlaps and localised repair points.
  • Self-Adhesive Backing: The bitumen rubber adhesive backing removes the need for a separate adhesive on suitable prepared surfaces.
  • Grey Lead-Look Finish: The aluminium foil face gives a lead-look appearance for roof and flashing repairs.
  • 10m Roll Length: The roll length gives enough material for several small repairs or repeat detail work.
  • Cut-To-Length Use: The tape can be measured and trimmed to suit the exact repair point before application.
  • Low-Waste Option: The compact width helps avoid using wider tape where only a narrow sealing strip is required.

Applying The 75mm Tape On Small Details

The 75mm roll is best fitted to small, narrow or localised repair points after the surface has been properly prepared. Because this size is used for detail work, careful positioning and firm pressure are important.

  • Step 1: Brush or wipe the repair area so it is dry, sound and free from dust, grease, oil and loose material.
  • Step 2: On porous surfaces such as brick or concrete, apply a suitable Sika Black Jack primer first and allow it to dry.
  • Step 3: Cut a short strip to suit the bolt head, seam, crack or narrow repair point.
  • Step 4: Start the tape in position, peeling away a small section of backing first rather than exposing the full adhesive at once.
  • Step 5: Press the tape down from the centre outwards, then roll the edges so the adhesive makes full contact with the surface.

When 75mm Flashing Tape Is Not The Best Fit

This 75mm flashing tape is made for narrow detail sealing and small repair points. It is not the best option where the repair needs wider coverage, fewer joins or a broader waterproofing strip.

  • Do not apply to: Damp, wet, dirty, oily, greasy, loose, crumbling or unstable surfaces.
  • Avoid using too many narrow strips: If several 75mm strips would be needed side by side, choose a wider roll for a cleaner repair with fewer joins.
  • Use a wider roll for larger details: For wider flashing laps, skylight edges, parapet areas, roof sheet overlaps or broad gutter repairs, 100mm, 150mm, 225mm, 300mm or 450mm tape may be more suitable.
  • Prime first where needed: Porous brick, blockwork, concrete and similar absorbent surfaces may need Sika Black Jack Bitumen and Flashing Primer before application.

Application Notes From The Technical Data Sheet

The following application points are based on manufacturer technical guidance and should be checked against the current data sheet before use.

  • Apply within the manufacturer-stated application temperature range of 5°C to 40°C.
  • Do not apply to damp, wet or unstable surfaces.
  • Remove dust, oil, grease and loose surface contamination before fitting the tape.
  • Prime porous brick, concrete or similar absorbent surfaces before application where required.
  • Cut the tape to size before removing too much of the release backing.
  • Use at least 25mm overlaps where two tape sections meet.
  • Use a small roller to press down edges, corners and overlaps.
  • Make sure air pockets are worked out as the tape is applied.
  • In cold weather or after cold storage, adhesion may be reduced. Allow the tape to warm up or gently warm the bitumen adhesive layer with a hot air blower if needed.
  • Always check the current manufacturer technical data sheet before use.

Safety: Wear protective gloves, eye protection and suitable work clothing when cutting and applying the tape. Work from a safe position, avoid unsupported roof access, handle knives or scissors carefully, and keep waste or residue away from drains and watercourses.

Products To Help With Preparation And Clean-Up

On porous areas such as brick or concrete, improve surface preparation with Sika Black Jack 902 Bitumen and Flashing Primer 1L before applying the flashing tape.

For removing marks, residue and general mess after cutting or pressing the tape into place, use Heavy Duty Sika Everbuild Textured Wonder Wipes – 75 Wipe Tub.
