Quick Product Summary: 10m x 100mm grey self-adhesive flashing tape for compact repair runs. Best for small roof seams, gutter edges, flashing laps and roof sheet details where 75mm may feel too narrow but a wider roll may be harder to place neatly. Porous brick, blockwork or concrete may need priming before application.

Sika Black Jack Self-Adhesive Flashing Tape 10m x 100mm is a grey flashing tape with a lead-look finish, used for small roof repairs, flashing work, guttering details and general sealing jobs. It combines an aluminium foil face with a self-adhesive bitumen rubber backing, helping form a weather-resistant seal when pressed firmly onto a suitable prepared surface.

The 100mm width gives more coverage than the 75mm roll while still staying compact enough for controlled repair work. It is a useful general-purpose size for small roof maintenance, narrow gutter repairs, felt laps, edge details and flashing overlaps where a very narrow tape may not give enough cover, but a wider roll may be more than the job needs.

Best Used For Small Flashing Details

This 100mm tape is a good choice when the repair area is narrow or when the job needs accurate placement rather than broad coverage. It gives enough width for many small waterproofing jobs while remaining easier to handle around edges, joins and awkward details.

  • Small flashing repairs around roof edges and seams.
  • Localised repairs to existing flashing.
  • Sealing narrow joints, laps and roof details.
  • Guttering repairs and smaller leak sealing jobs.
  • Pipework, capping bolts and roof sheet fixing details.
  • Small repairs to bituminous felt and similar roof surfaces.
  • General waterproofing work on suitable prepared surfaces.

Why Choose The 100mm Width

Choose the 100mm roll when the repair needs more coverage than a narrow detail strip but does not need the wider spread of a 150mm, 225mm, 300mm or 450mm tape. It gives a practical balance between easy handling and useful coverage for common roof, gutter and flashing maintenance tasks.

For very tight details, bolt heads or narrow cracks, the 75mm roll may be easier to place. For wider roof seams, larger flashing overlaps or broader repair zones, the 150mm or wider sizes may be more suitable.

Suitable Application Areas

Sika Black Jack self-adhesive flashing tape can be used on a range of suitable surfaces where a waterproofing repair or flashing detail is required.

  • Roofing felt and bituminous roof surfaces.
  • Gutters and gutter joints.
  • Roof sheet fixings and capping bolts.
  • Parapet wall details and roof edges.
  • Concrete, brickwork and blockwork details.
  • Timber and metal surfaces where suitable and prepared.
  • Skylight, roof glazing and small flashing details.

Key Performance Benefits

  • 10 metre roll with 100mm width.
  • Grey lead-look finish for flashing and roof repair work.
  • Self-adhesive backing, with no separate adhesive required.
  • Aluminium foil face with bitumen rubber adhesive.
  • Useful for small repairs, narrow seams and detail work.
  • Can be cut to length with a sharp knife or scissors.
  • Suitable for trade and DIY maintenance jobs.

Applying The 100mm Tape

This tape should be applied after the surface has been cleaned, dried and checked for stability. Good preparation helps the adhesive backing make proper contact with the repair area.

  • Step 1: Remove dust, dirt, grease, oil, loose material and surface contamination from the repair area.
  • Step 2: Make sure the surface is dry, sound and suitable before applying the tape.
  • Step 3: Prime porous surfaces such as brick or concrete where required, then allow the primer to dry.
  • Step 4: Measure the repair area and cut the tape to the required length.
  • Step 5: Peel back a small section of the release backing, position the tape, then remove the backing gradually while pressing the tape down.
  • Step 6: Press firmly across the full width and length, working out trapped air as the tape is applied.
  • Step 7: Use a small roller to seal edges, corners and overlaps properly.

When 100mm Flashing Tape Is Not The Best Fit

This 100mm flashing tape is a compact repair size for smaller roof and gutter details. It is not intended for very narrow fixing points or larger roof patch repairs.

  • Do not apply to: Damp, wet, dirty, oily, greasy, loose, crumbling or unstable surfaces.
  • Use 75mm for tighter detail work: Capping bolts, small fixing points and very narrow seams may be easier to seal with the 75mm roll.
  • Move up a size for broader coverage: For larger flashing laps, parapet details, skylight edges, wide gutter repairs or roof sheet overlaps, 150mm, 225mm, 300mm or 450mm tape may be more suitable.
  • Prime first where needed: Porous brick, blockwork, concrete and similar absorbent surfaces may need Sika Black Jack Bitumen and Flashing Primer before application.

Application Notes From The Technical Data Sheet

The following application points are based on manufacturer technical guidance and should be checked against the current data sheet before use.

  • Apply within the manufacturer-stated application temperature range of 5°C to 40°C.
  • Do not apply to damp, wet, dirty, loose or unstable surfaces.
  • Remove oil, grease, dust and loose surface contamination before fitting the tape.
  • Prime porous brick, concrete or similar absorbent surfaces before application where required.
  • Cut the tape to size before removing too much of the release backing.
  • Use at least 25mm overlaps where two sections of tape meet.
  • Use a small roller to press down edges, corners and overlaps.
  • Make sure air pockets are worked out while the tape is being applied.
  • In cold weather or after cold storage, adhesion may be reduced. Allow the tape to warm up or gently warm the bitumen adhesive layer with a hot air blower if needed.
  • Always check the current manufacturer technical data sheet before use.

Safety: Wear protective gloves, eye protection and suitable work clothing when cutting and applying this flashing tape. Work from a safe position, take care when using a knife or scissors, avoid unsupported roof access, and keep waste or residue away from drains and watercourses.

Products To Help With Preparation And Clean-Up
