Quick Product Summary: 150mm wide self-adhesive bituminous flashing tape with an aluminium film face. Suitable for wider roof repairs, gutter sealing, chimney details, roof light edges, sheet metal work and external sealing jobs on clean, dry and compatible substrates.
Sika MultiSeal 150mm x 10m is a self-adhesive sealing and flashing tape based on a bituminous compound reinforced with an aluminium film. It is used for sealing, repairing and protecting suitable roofs, gutters, roof lights, chimneys, sheet metal details and other external building surfaces.
The 150mm width gives broader coverage than the 100mm roll, making it useful when the repair area is too wide for a narrow strip. It is a practical size for wider seams, larger overlaps, roof light edges, gutter repairs and flashing details where more surface coverage is needed without moving to an extra-wide flashing tape.
Where This 150mm Flashing Tape Fits
This 150mm roll is suited to wider sealing and repair jobs where a smaller tape may not give enough coverage.
- Wider flashing repairs around roofs, roof edges and roof details.
- Sealing gutters, gutter joints and larger gutter repair areas.
- Repairing chimney flashing details and roof abutments.
- Sealing around roof lights, skylights and sheet metal details.
- Repairing cracks, joints and gaps on suitable prepared building substrates.
- Use on caravans, trailers, office containers and ductwork where the substrate is compatible.
Why Choose The 150mm Width
Choose the 150mm width when the repair needs more coverage than a narrow flashing tape can provide. It is useful for wider joints, larger repair strips, broader overlaps and roof details where the tape needs to cover more of the surrounding surface.
For smaller repair strips, gutter edges or neat localised sealing, the 100mm Sika MultiSeal tape may be easier to position. For broader repairs and larger flashing details, the 150mm size gives a wider sealing area in one strip.
Key Performance Benefits
- Self-Adhesive Application: No separate adhesive is normally needed on suitable clean, dry and sound substrates.
- Bituminous Sealing Compound: Designed to seal and protect suitable joints, cracks and repair areas.
- Aluminium Film Reinforcement: Gives the tape a durable finished face.
- Weather Resistant: Suitable for external sealing and repair work when correctly applied.
- UV Resistant: Designed to resist permanent UV exposure.
- Wider 150mm Coverage: Covers broader repair areas than the 100mm roll.
- Can Be Applied At Low Temperatures: Application is possible from +5°C when the substrate and tape are prepared correctly.
- Paintable Surface: The top film can be painted with most conventional water-based paint systems after compatibility testing.
How To Use Sika MultiSeal 150mm Flashing Tape
Always read the current Sika product data sheet and safety information before use. Application depends on substrate type, surface condition, temperature and whether the tape is being used for sealing, repair or protection.
- Step 1: Check the substrate is suitable, clean, dry, sound and free from dirt, oil, grease, coatings, dust and loose material.
- Step 2: Remove loose material using a scraper, wire brush, brush, vacuum or other suitable preparation method.
- Step 3: Test coated, plastic or unusual substrates before use to check compatibility.
- Step 4: Cut the tape to the required length, allowing suitable overlap between cuts.
- Step 5: Remove the release film gradually and press the tape firmly into position.
- Step 6: Use a hard-wheeled roller or suitable tool to press the tape down and improve contact with the substrate.
- Step 7: Make sure edges and overlaps are fully pressed down and avoid trapped air or unnecessary creasing.
- Step 8: In colder conditions, warm the tape by handling it for a few minutes and warm the substrate with a warm air blower if needed.
When This Product Is Not The Best Fit
This product is a 150mm wide self-adhesive flashing tape. It is not a liquid roof coating, roof felt adhesive, primer, sealant cartridge, roofing felt, roof sheet, mechanical fixing or structural repair material.
- Not for very narrow repairs: For small joints, gutter edges or neat localised sealing, the 100mm tape may be easier to handle.
- Not for wet or damp surfaces: Substrates must be dry before the tape is applied.
- Not for natural stone: Do not use on natural stone substrates because discolouration may occur.
- Not for permanent water immersion: Do not use for applications permanently immersed in water or under water pressure.
- Not for untested plastics or coatings: Check compatibility first because plasticiser migration may affect adhesion or surface appearance.
- Not for solvent-based overpainting: Only use compatible water-based paint systems after testing.

Safety: Follow the current Sika product data sheet and safety data sheet before use. Wear suitable work clothing and gloves when handling and applying flashing tape. Avoid applying to unsuitable, damp, dusty or contaminated substrates. Clean tools immediately after use with petroleum or turpentine where suitable, and wash skin with water and soap after cleaning.
Products To Help With Preparation, Use Or Clean-Up
For dusty, porous or difficult surfaces, prepare the area before applying the tape. A brush or scraper can help remove loose material, dust and debris before sealing. You can browse suitable preparation products in Brooms and Hand Brushes.
For porous masonry, brickwork, concrete or difficult bitumen-based surfaces, a primer may be needed before applying flashing tape. Use Sika Black Jack 902 Bitumen and Flashing Primer 1L where the surface requires priming before tape application.
For clean-up after preparation and handling, Sika Everbuild Heavy Duty Textured Wonder Wipes can help remove general grime, residue and dirt from hands, tools and suitable surfaces.
For smaller flashing repairs, choose the 100mm Sika MultiSeal size from the side options where a narrower repair strip is needed.
