Quick Product Summary: Sika Evercryl Clear 1kg is a translucent instant roof repair compound for less visible waterproofing repairs around small roof leaks, flashings, gutters, vents, upstands and other local roof details.
Sika Evercryl Translucent Clear 1kg is a ready-to-use resin-based roof repair compound for small emergency roof repairs and local waterproofing maintenance. It is designed to give instant water protection when applied and can be used in wet or dry conditions where the surface is suitable.
The clear version is best used where a less visible translucent finish is preferred. It is suited to compatible roof coating areas and local roof details where a grey patch would look too obvious.
Best For Less Visible Roof Repairs
Choose the clear version when the repair needs to stay more discreet. It is not the same as the grey fibre-reinforced version, so it is better suited to translucent waterproofing repairs rather than visible reinforced crack-bridging patch work.
- Small roof leaks where a grey patch would stand out too much.
- Compatible roof coating areas where a less visible repair is preferred.
- Flashings, upstands, vents and local waterproofing details.
- Gutters, downpipes, gullies and roofline repair points.
- Emergency wet weather repairs where the surface is suitable.
Why Choose Clear Evercryl
The clear version is the better choice where appearance matters. It gives waterproof protection while leaving more of the original surface visible, making it useful for roof details where a grey repair coating would be too noticeable.
For visible crack repairs, gaps, felt repairs and stronger reinforced patching, the Grey version may be more suitable. For a less obvious translucent waterproofing repair, choose Clear.
Key Benefits
- Clear Translucent Finish: Better for less visible roof repairs where a grey patch is not preferred.
- Instant Waterproofing: Designed to give immediate water protection after application.
- Wet Or Dry Use: Can be applied in damp, wet and suitable frosty conditions.
- Small Repair Tin: 1kg size is practical for isolated leaks and local roof maintenance.
- Less Visible Finish: Suitable for local roof details where a grey repair coating would be too noticeable.
- Brush Applied: Easy to apply by brush after preparation.
- Flexible Membrane: Dries to a seamless flexible waterproof coating.
- UV Resistant: Formulated with lightfast acrylic polymers for outdoor exposure.
Where It Can Be Used
Sika Evercryl Clear can be used for general sealing, maintenance, repair and waterproofing of most common roofs in wet or dry conditions. It is suitable for local repairs on concrete, fibre cement, roofing felt, mastic asphalt, existing bituminous roof coatings, rigid uPVC, corrugated iron, metals, slates, brickwork, tiles, lead, copper and zinc.
- Small roof leaks and local waterproofing defects.
- Guttering, downpipes and gully repairs.
- Compatible roof coating areas where a less visible repair is preferred.
- Flashings, upstands, vents and leadwork.
- Metal, slate, tile, concrete and bitumen roof details.
- Small local repairs around roof penetrations and roofline edges.
How To Apply
Always read the current Sika product data sheet and safety data sheet before use. The roof should be checked first, because no coating product should be relied on to repair a roof that is not structurally sound or stable.
- Inspect the roof: Replace or refix broken, slipped, cracked or missing tiles, slates, sheets or other roof coverings before applying the product.
- Prepare the surface: Remove loose debris, dirt, dust, grease, algae, fungal growth and unstable material from the repair area.
- Prime where needed: Sound non-porous surfaces may not need primer, but porous, friable or difficult surfaces should be primed with a compatible bitumen and flashing primer.
- Stir before use: Stir the product well before applying.
- Apply by brush: Apply the clear Evercryl with a brush, working it over the repair area and surrounding detail.
- Use one coat where suitable: Evercryl is designed as a one-coat repair compound, but extreme cases may need a second coat after the first coat has dried sufficiently.
- Allow to cure: The coating is instantly waterproof when applied, but drying and curing times depend on temperature, surface condition and coating thickness.
Choosing Clear Or Grey
This clear version is best for less visible waterproofing work where a translucent finish is preferred. It is suited to compatible roof coating areas and local roof details where a grey repair would look too obvious.
- Choose Clear: For translucent repairs and less visible waterproofing work where fibre reinforcement is not required.
- Choose Grey: For visible roof patch repairs, cracks, gaps, gutters, flashings and fibre-reinforced repair work.
- Use 1kg: For small local repairs and emergency leak work.
- Use larger sizes: For repeated repairs, broader roof sections or trade maintenance jobs.

Products To Help With Preparation, Use Or Clean-Up
For dusty, loose or friable surfaces, prepare the area before applying the roof repair compound. A brush or scraper can help remove loose material, dust and unstable coating from the repair area.
For porous, friable or difficult surfaces, use Sika Black Jack 902 Bitumen and Flashing Primer 1L where a compatible primer is required before application.
For handling and clean-up after preparation or application, Sika Everbuild Heavy Duty Textured Wonder Wipes can help remove general grime, dirt and residue from hands, tools and suitable surfaces.
