Quick Product Summary: Sika Evercryl Grey 2.5kg is a fibre-reinforced instant roof repair compound for visible grey waterproofing repairs to cracks, gutters, flashings, vents, upstands, leadwork and multiple local roof repair areas.
Sika Evercryl Grey 2.5kg is a ready-to-use resin-based roof repair compound for repairing and waterproofing suitable roof surfaces in wet or dry conditions. It is designed to give instant water protection when applied and is useful for maintenance jobs where several roof defects need attention.
The grey version is best suited to visible roof repairs where a grey finish is acceptable or preferred. It is a stronger fit for patching, crack bridging and reinforced detail repairs than the clear translucent version, and the 2.5kg tin gives more material than the 1kg size for repeat repair work.
Best For Visible Grey Roof Repair Work
Choose the grey version when the repair can remain visible and extra fibre-reinforced support is useful. It is well suited to cracks, gaps, gutters, flashings, vents, roof edges and general patching where a grey waterproof repair finish is acceptable.
- Visible grey roof patch repairs.
- Cracks, gaps and weak areas on suitable roof surfaces.
- Gutters, downpipes, gullies and roofline details.
- Flashings, upstands, vents and leadwork.
- Several small leaks or repeated local roof repair points.
- Emergency wet weather repairs where the surface is suitable.
Why Choose The 2.5kg Grey Version
The 2.5kg size is useful when one small 1kg tin may run short. It suits several local repairs, repeated maintenance visits, longer gutter or flashing details, and small-to-medium patch repair jobs where a larger 5kg tin is not needed.
Choose Grey where the repair needs fibre reinforcement and a visible grey finish is suitable. Choose Black for darker felt or bitumen-style roofs where a black repair patch will blend better.
Key Benefits
- Grey Fibre-Reinforced Repair: Helps bridge small cracks and strengthen local repair areas.
- Instant Waterproofing: Designed to provide immediate water protection after application.
- Wet Or Dry Use: Can be applied in damp, wet and suitable frosty conditions.
- 2.5kg Mid-Size Tin: Useful for several roof repair points without buying a larger tin.
- Visible Repair Finish: Grey finish suits repairs where the patch does not need to be hidden.
- Brush Applied: Designed for straightforward application after surface preparation.
- Flexible Membrane: Dries to a seamless flexible waterproof coating.
- Multi-Surface Use: Suitable for many common prepared roof and building materials.
Where It Can Be Used
Sika Evercryl Grey can be used for general sealing, repair, maintenance and waterproofing of many common roof surfaces in wet or dry conditions. It is suitable for local repairs on concrete, fibre cement, roofing felt, mastic asphalt, existing bituminous roof coatings, rigid uPVC, corrugated iron, metals, slates, brickwork, tiles, lead, copper and zinc.
- Visible grey roof patch repairs and waterproofing details.
- Small roof leaks and local waterproofing defects.
- Guttering, downpipes and gully repairs.
- Flashings, upstands, vents and leadwork.
- Metal, slate, tile, concrete and bitumen roof details.
- Small-to-medium repair jobs where the 1kg tin may be too small.
How To Apply
Always read the current Sika product data sheet and safety data sheet before use. The roof should be checked first, because no coating product should be relied on to repair a roof that is not structurally sound or stable.
- Inspect the roof: Replace or refix broken, slipped, cracked or missing tiles, slates, sheets or roof coverings before applying the compound.
- Prepare the surface: Remove loose debris, dirt, dust, grease, algae, fungal growth and unstable material from the repair area.
- Prime where needed: Sound non-porous surfaces may not need primer, but porous, friable or difficult surfaces should be primed with a compatible bitumen and flashing primer.
- Stir before use: Stir the product well before applying.
- Apply by brush: Apply the grey Evercryl with a brush, working it into cracks, gaps and surrounding repair areas.
- Use one coat where suitable: Evercryl is designed as a one-coat repair compound, but extreme cases may need a second coat after the first coat has dried sufficiently.
- Allow to cure: The coating is instantly waterproof when applied, but full drying depends on temperature, coating thickness and site conditions.
Choosing Grey, Black Or 1kg
This Grey 2.5kg version is best where the repair can remain visible and crack-bridging reinforcement is useful. It gives more working material than the 1kg tin, making it better for several defects or small-to-medium roof maintenance jobs.
- Choose Grey 2.5kg: For visible reinforced patching, cracks, gutters, flashings and several local repairs.
- Choose Black 2.5kg: For dark felt, bitumen and black roof details where the finish needs to blend better.
- Choose 1kg: For one small leak or a very small local patch repair.
- Choose larger sizes: For broader roof sections, repeated trade use or larger maintenance work.
