Applying a Sealer to Natural Stone and Concrete

This instructional video shows how to apply a protective seal to outdoor paving. It focuses on sealing natural stone and concrete surfaces effectively. Proper preparation is the first step. You must make sure the entire area is clean and completely dry before you begin the application. The footage highlights checking for the correct conditions before starting any application. Do not apply the liquid if rain is expected within four hours of the work. You must also avoid application in extreme temperatures, specifically below 5°C or above 30°C. Always test a small, inconspicuous, hidden area before commencing the main work.

The liquid sealer is shown being poured from its container into a low-pressure spray unit. After filling, the sprayer is pumped to build up the required pressure. The video demonstrates applying the product with the low-pressure spray directly onto the paved surface. A roller or brush can also be used if preferred. The demonstration then shows how to apply the clear liquid seal until the paving is completely saturated. This is necessary for maximum protection. As the paving material begins to soak in the seal, a second coat may be required. When applying the second coat, take care not to let the first coat dry completely between applications. Keeping the surface slightly wet allows for better integration between the coats.

The video demonstrates smooth, even application over the surface and joints. Follow the outlined steps to protect paving from dirt, moisture, and weathering. Proper sealing extends the life and appearance of stone or concrete paving.
