Applying a Seal to Paved Areas

This short, instructional video details the process for applying a clear protective seal to exterior stone paving. The initial steps stress the importance of surface preparation. Before starting, the paved area must be entirely clean and dry. Conditions are also a major factor in a successful application. Users should avoid applying the product if rain is expected in the next four hours or if the temperature falls outside the 5°C to 30°C range.

The video shows the surface protection fluid being poured into a low-pressure sprayer, which is one recommended method of application. Users are strongly advised to test a small, hidden section of the paving before covering the main area. This patch test is necessary to confirm the final appearance and check compatibility with the paving material. When applying the seal, use a low-pressure spray unit, a roller, or a brush. The product must be applied across the surface to the point of saturation. You must take care not to allow the fluid to puddle in depressions or low spots on the stone. If the paving material is especially porous, a second coat can be added once the first coat begins to soak in.

The video also highlights an important warning: do not allow the initial coat to dry completely between applications. Following this simple application process adds a protective barrier to the paving. This protects the stone against moisture ingress, helping to preserve the original appearance of the patio or driveway for longer.
