Product Details: Brand: Everbuild | Product: Lumberjack Wood Preserver (Clear) | Size: 5 litre | Colour: Clear | MPN: LJCR05 | SKU: 482977 | Barcode (EAN/GTIN): 5029347802035

Quick Product Summary: Everbuild Lumberjack Wood Preserver 5 L (Clear) uses micro-fine active technology to penetrate deeply into timber and provide long-lasting protection against wet rot, dry rot, decay and fungi. Suitable for interior and exterior rough-sawn or planed timber. When used externally, the Clear version should be overpainted or stained once dry.

Best For Clear Timber Protection

Choose this clear 5 L size when you need a trade-capacity preserver that keeps the natural timber appearance while giving long-lasting protection to structural and decorative woodwork.

Why Choose the Clear Variant

The clear formulation dries without changing the timber colour (product is milky in the can but dries clear) and is ideal as a pre-treatment before painting, staining or varnishing. Coloured Lumberjack variants are available where identification or a tinted finish is preferred.

Key Benefits

  • Micro-fine active formula for deep penetration and improved effectiveness
  • Protects against wet rot, dry rot, decay and fungi
  • Fast-drying and non-flammable
  • Can be applied to damp timbers without loss of performance (manufacturer guidance)
  • Suitable for interior or exterior timber (external use requires overcoating)

Where It Can Be Used

Intended for use on rough-sawn or planed timber including floorboards, joists, roof timbers, window frames, doors, fences, sheds, cladding and horticultural timber. Useful for structural timbers and general joinery pre-treatment.

How To Apply

  • Ensure surfaces are clean and free from paint, varnish, stain, grease, bark or other contaminants; surfaces may be damp.
  • Shake or stir well before use.
  • Apply by brush, spray or dipping. For brushing or spraying apply a minimum of two coats; when brushing or spraying the second coat should be applied after one hour at 20°C (manufacturer guidance).
  • Soak end grains thoroughly; dip end grains for at least 3 minutes where possible for maximum protection.
  • Use only as supplied – do not dilute.

Technical Notes

  • Approximate coverage: 15-20 m² per 5 litre can (dependent on timber porosity).
  • Drying: allow up to 48 hours before overpainting or staining at 20°C; drying times extend in cold weather or poor ventilation.
  • Shelf life: use within 2 years of manufacture if stored in original container at moderate temperatures (+5°C to +30°C).
  • Non-flammable; low odour formulation.

Important: The product is milky in the can but dries clear. When used externally a decorative topcoat (stain, paint or varnish) is required. Always read the current Everbuild Product Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet before use.

Safety & Limitations

Read the manufacturer Safety Data Sheet prior to use. Avoid contact with skin and eyes and ensure good ventilation during and after application until the treatment has dried. Do not apply to surfaces on which food is prepared. Clean tools with water before the product dries. Store away from children and within the temperature range +5°C to +30°C.

Where To Use As A Base Coat

This clear preserver is suitable as a pre-treatment prior to staining, varnishing or painting. For external decorative finishes, overcoat with an appropriate Everbuild or compatible stain or paint after the product has fully dried.

Important: Tins may arrive with cosmetic dents in transit. Cosmetic damage to the container does not necessarily mean the product inside is damaged. If the cosmetic condition of the tin is important to you, please consider this before ordering.

Products To Help With Preparation, Use Or Clean-Up

For application or working material into the prepared area, Marksman Hand Brush with Medium Soft Synthetic Bristles may be useful where the product method calls for a brush.

For handling and clean-up after preparation or application, Sika Everbuild Wonder Wipes Spray Antibacterial Cleaner – 1 Litre (511711) can help with general dirt and residue on hands, tools and suitable surfaces.
